The Basics

Poker is played with a normal pack of 52 playing cards that will be familiar to
most if not all of you. Cards are ranked from (high to low) Ace, King, Queen,
Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace (Ace can be high or low but is usually high).
All suits (ie Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs) are of even ranking and so
none are regarded to be higher than the other. All
games of Poker involve five card hands, with the highest ranking hand being
the winner. There are a few variations in how Poker is played which will be
explained later.
